Low-sheen finishes
Flatter finishes can reduce glare and make minor wall texture less noticeable, which is why they are often considered for ceilings and lower-contact spaces.
Mid-sheen finishes
Eggshell and satin-type finishes are often chosen when a balance between appearance and cleanability is desired.
Higher-sheen finishes
Glossier coatings can be useful on trim, doors or other surfaces that see frequent contact, but they tend to highlight surface defects more strongly.
